Educational Activities
of the
IEEE Long Island Section

Educational Activities charter is to help ensure the growth of skill and knowledge among the technical profession on Long Island and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE LI members, the engineering and scientific community, and the general public. We will promote EAB (Educational Activity Board) objectives to Long Island IEEE members and voice the concern of IEEE Long Island members in these pursuits whenever relevant.

The IEEE LI Section has many groups that already bring in speakers for the education of our members. The Educational Activities supports these groups by arranging speakers on varied topics such as Power, Embedded Processing, RF, and other areas.

Educational Activities also works with GOLD and local University IEEE student groups to provide a prelude to the Electrical Engineering profession and to bring industry examples of the daily work as Electrical Engineers. At the High School level, Education Activities show that Electrical Engineering is not a poor choice in the new Millennium because of outsourcing. EEs are needed to bring new solutions to the many new challenges facing the new generation.
